Maryanne began her career with MetLife in 1989. In addition, she served in the United States Navy as a Nurse Corps Officer for 31 years. She retired from the Naval Reserve as a Rear Admiral in 1995, holding distinction as the first female to be promoted to that rank.

In addition to being a Financial Planner, Maryanne is a registered nurse. She holds a BSN from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA in Education from George Washington University, an MA Certificate in Gerontology from George Mason University, and a Doctor of Humane Letters (honoris causa) from LaSalle University, and a Certificate in Financial Planning from Florida Institute of Technology.

Memberships include: Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, the Naval Reserve Association, the American Nurses Association and Virginia Nurses Association, as well as the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Additionally, she is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, is a board member for the Shepherd's Center of Oakton/Vienna, and a Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow. As a certified instructor for long term care insurance in Virginia and Maryland, Maryanne is frequently asked to speak on the subject at professional meetings, consumer groups, and adult education programs.

Maryanne is the mother of four and grandmother of four. She resides in Oakton, VA with her husband Jim.
